Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 18, 2026

AI Powered Therapist is operated by AI Powered Therapist LLC. This policy restores the privacy structure used by the former APT platform and applies to the current website, app experiences, accounts, AI self-help tools, Clarity Guide, Executive Reset, saved sessions, nonclinical human support, provider applications, therapist directories, videos, referrals, notifications, and related services.

THE FULL DETAILSFind your next step

Information you provide

We may collect information you choose to provide, including name, email address, mobile number, account and login details, support requests, subscription status, provider or coach application information, professional credentials and license information, profile materials, booking links, inquiry content, payment-related contact information, and content entered into self-help tools.

Self-help content may include check-in answers, message or relationship prompts, reflections, companion messages, uploaded screenshots, Clarity Guide text or voice input, Executive Reset context, coach-support messages, and saved outputs. Please do not submit information you do not want processed.

Website, app, device, and voice information

We may collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, pages or screens visited, referral source, consent state, session and conversion events, crash or diagnostic information, security logs, cookies, and local-storage preferences.

If you start a feature that uses microphone, camera, notifications, photo upload, or another device capability, the website or app may request that permission. A live Clarity voice session can transmit audio to the configured AI service during the active session. APT does not continuously listen through your microphone when an active voice session is not running.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure the service, create and manage accounts, deliver requested AI and human-support experiences, save activity when requested, administer memberships and payments, evaluate provider applications, manage limited city inventory, route inquiries, publish approved profiles or videos, send transactional communications, prevent abuse, troubleshoot performance, measure consented usage, and comply with legal or operational obligations.

AI processing and self-help content

APT is an AI-guided self-help and educational platform, not psychotherapy, diagnosis, medical treatment, crisis care, or emergency support. Content submitted to an AI-powered feature may be sent to the configured AI provider, including OpenAI when enabled, to generate the response, transcript, summary, reflection, or next-step guidance you requested.

We do not use mental-health tool entries, Clarity conversations, Daily Check-In answers, Daily Connection entries, companion conversations, Executive Reset context, coach-support content, or similar sensitive self-help content for third-party advertising or retargeting.

Anonymous and saved sessions

Raw anonymous tool input is not stored in the Nexus database by default. Privacy-safe event records may identify the tool, technical outcome, or safety route without retaining the raw message. Signed-in users can choose to save eligible sessions for history and continuity. Saved data is encrypted at rest where Nexus supports private storage and participates in available WordPress export and erasure tools.

Payments, subscriptions, and payouts

Membership, nonclinical human support, provider placement, and related payments may be processed by Stripe or another configured payment processor. We may receive customer and transaction identifiers, subscription status, payment status, billing contact details, and limited payment metadata. We do not store complete payment-card numbers on APT servers.

Provider, coach, referral, or contractor payout workflows may process identity, payout readiness, ledger, fraud-prevention, tax, and legal-record information when those features are enabled.

Provider and coach information

Provider applications may include professional identity, credentials, license information, states and cities served, specialties, biography, headshot, booking information, website, review result, city reservation, and internal verification notes. Public display is limited to approved profile information. Internal credential, billing, fraud, safety, and editorial notes are not intended for public display.

Human Clarity Coach operations may include identity, experience, availability, safety acknowledgments, agreements, assignment history, performance records, payout status, and communications needed to deliver nonclinical support.

Therapist inquiries

Private therapist inquiry content is encrypted at rest in Nexus. Notification emails contain a reference rather than the inquiry text. APT routes the inquiry to the selected independent provider or authorized administrator; submitting an inquiry does not create a therapist-client relationship or guarantee a response or appointment.

Videos, media, and social distribution

Clarity Studio and connected social workflows may process video files, audio, captions, transcripts, titles, categories, review status, distribution state, and public platform URLs. Only approved content is intended for public display. AI-generated or AI-assisted content is labeled when applicable and remains subject to human review before publication.

SMS, email, and notifications

If you opt in, we may use your email address, mobile number, or app notification token to send requested reminders, account notices, provider or coach workflow messages, delivery references, application results, billing notices, or support communications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to eligible SMS messages or use available unsubscribe controls.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies, local storage, analytics, and consent

Necessary cookies and local storage operate security, accounts, forms, checkout/session state, media preferences, and privacy choices. Optional analytics may measure public page views, traffic sources, tool usage, and conversions, including Google Analytics through Site Kit when enabled. Optional marketing storage remains off unless you expressly consent.

You can accept, reject, or manage optional categories through the cookie controls and Cookie Policy. Consent choices are stored for up to 180 days unless you clear browser storage or update them sooner.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers acting for us, such as hosting and cloud providers, configured AI providers, Stripe, Google Analytics/Site Kit, email or notification services, security and fraud-prevention providers, and contractors acting under instructions. Providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect a person or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, respond to lawful requests, or complete a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Configured retention periods

Retention depends on the workflow, account status, user choices, operational need, payment and tax obligations, security, disputes, fraud prevention, and applicable law. Current Nexus retention controls are:

Some records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for payment and tax records, security, fraud prevention, disputes, legal compliance, enforcement, backup integrity, or a documented legal hold. When data must be retained, use is limited to the applicable purpose.

Account deletion and data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated account data through the Delete Account page. You can request deletion of app or service data without asking to close the entire account through the Data Deletion page. We may verify identity before completing a request.

Deleting an APT account does not automatically cancel an active third-party subscription unless the cancellation is processed through the applicable billing or support flow. Some transaction, security, fraud, dispute, and legal records may be retained as described above.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may update available account information, manage optional cookies, turn off available notifications, unsubscribe from eligible emails, reply STOP to eligible SMS messages, or submit an access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, consent-withdrawal, or privacy-question request through the Privacy Request page.

Security and breach response

APT uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption for supported private records, access controls, audit events, rate limits, and security monitoring. No website, app, network, transmission, or storage system can guarantee absolute security. If a qualifying breach occurs, APT will provide notices as required by applicable law.

Children

APT is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Additional age restrictions may apply to paid services, coaching, provider services, app stores, or local jurisdictions.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, vendors, retention settings, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.

Privacy questions and requests may be sent to admin@aipoweredtherapist.com or submitted through the Privacy Request page.

Privacy clarification · September 7, 2026

Sensitive information and your choices

Information about emotional distress, mental health, symptoms, seeking care or a therapist inquiry can be sensitive consumer health data even when it is entered into a self-help tool. AI-generated inferences linked to you may also be sensitive. Share only what is needed for the task and avoid unnecessary names or identifying details about other people.

AI processing is different from a private clinical appointment

AI features process information through the providers described in this privacy policy. Do not assume that a conversation with an AI has the same confidentiality, professional relationship or legal protections as an appointment with your own licensed clinician. This distinction does not remove any privacy or confidentiality obligations that apply by law.

Accepting general terms is not a substitute for a separate health-data consent or authorization where one is required. Microphone permission is a device permission; it is not blanket permission for unrelated use or disclosure of your health information.

Requests, withdrawal and appeals

Use the privacy request form or email admin@aipoweredtherapist.com to request access, correction, deletion, information about sharing, or withdrawal of consent. Please identify the account or service involved without including a detailed health history. Identity verification may be required to protect your information.

If you disagree with a decision about a privacy request, use the same form’s privacy-question option or email with the subject “Privacy appeal,” identifying the request and the decision you want reviewed. Where applicable law provides an appeal or complaint right, you may exercise that right, including contacting your state attorney general or privacy regulator. Statutory response periods and permitted exceptions apply; the published retention schedule does not override a valid deletion right or a shorter legal limit.

To report an unintended disclosure or another data-handling concern, use that email address and describe the affected feature and approximate time. Do not email passwords, payment-card numbers or unnecessary sensitive records.

Adult access to APT AI tools

Updated September 7, 2026. APT AI conversations and interactive AI self-help tools are available only to people age 18 or older. Before using them, you must confirm that you are at least 18. This is a self-declaration, not verification of your identity. APT does not request a birth date or identity document for this check.

This restriction applies to APT AI tools. Public information, safety resources and the therapist directory remain available. Independent therapists determine eligibility and consent for their own professional services.

How the age check is remembered

Necessary security cookies remember the age-check decision on this browser for up to 12 hours. A separate confirmation-security cookie lasts up to 15 minutes. The cookies contain a signed decision or security token, an expiry time and a random value; they do not contain a birth date, ID, email address, conversation or account ID. These cookies are required to use APT AI tools and are separate from optional analytics choices. Clearing cookies removes the remembered choice.

Your Clarity saved notes

Clarity notes that you choose to save in your signed-in Console are included when APT processes an account-linked personal-data export or erasure through its WordPress privacy tools. You can also delete individual notes in your Console. This integration covers the Clarity saved-note table on the active site; it does not by itself erase backups, provider records or records held by other processors. A privacy request must still be reviewed and processed.

A therapist does not automatically receive your Clarity notes or conversation history. You may choose to share information directly with an independent therapist. An inquiry is not permission to access unrelated APT records.

Before starting an AI conversation

Updated September 9, 2026. Before using Clarity or another interactive APT AI tool, adults must separately acknowledge the AI self-help limitations and agree to the Terms and Conditions while acknowledging the Privacy Policy. No box is selected in advance. Consent for independent licensed therapy is handled separately by the provider.

A necessary acknowledgment cookie stores a signed receipt containing the acceptance time, acknowledgment version, expiry time and a random receipt value for up to 12 hours on this browser. This is a browser receipt, not a permanent account or server audit record. It contains no conversation text, birth date, identity document, email, IP address or account ID. A new acknowledgment is required after it expires, is cleared, or the acknowledgment version changes.

Conversation safety restrictions

Clarity checks written turns and voice transcripts for immediate safety concerns and disclosures that the user is under 18 before ordinary guidance continues. A necessary server-side record may retain only a restriction flag and expiry, associated with a keyed hash of the signed age-check cookie, for the remainder of that cookie’s lifetime (up to 12 hours). This record contains no conversation text, audio, name, email, or account ID. Closing the guide or switching modes does not clear it. Expired records stop applying immediately and are removed by scheduled or subsequent access cleanup. Safety resources remain available. This is an automated check, not clinical monitoring or guaranteed age verification.
